Sr. Manager Bank Controller

Job SummaryThe Bank Controller position will be primarily responsible for managing accurate monthly financial statements and ensure items are recorded according to GAAP. This individual will manage a team with focus on journal entries, daily settlement accounting, reviewing and approving journal entries and account reconciliations. They will need to develop and maintain strong working relationships with corporate partners. Develop and maintain variance analysis of financial statement data and adhoc analysis, working together with the FP&A team to ensure accurate and timely reporting and revenue/expense recognition. Utilize analytical skills to research and analyze financial information, propose cost saving opportunities, and recommend streamlining and standardizing opportunities for key business processes. Provide recommendations which will increase revenues or decrease costs. Based on analysis and research, help facilitate management s decision making process on key business initiatives. Prepare appropriate ad hoc analyses for senior management team members as needed. Coach, motivate, challenge and provide managerial guidance to the team. Designs and constructs advanced Excel models and spreadsheets. Present financial information to Senior Leadership/Management team.Essential Job Functions
  • Coach, motivate, challenge and provide managerial guidance to a small team of Financial Analysts; Manages daily workflow and project assignment for a small team; Responsible for the development of direct reports Personal development plans, appraisals, etc.
  • Develop annual budgets & monthly forecasts for business groups supported using a zero based budgeting approach; Strong partnership with business executives and management required for identifying business resource needs and providing adequate transparency into each process.
  • Utilize analytical skills to research and analyze financial information, propose cost saving opportunities, and recommend streamlining and standardizing opportunities for key business processes. Provide recommendations which will increase revenues or decrease costs.
  • Develop, analyze and deliver financial presentations and reports for senior level management, including monthly and quarterly operating review packages and monthly variance analysis.
  • Develop and maintain long term forecasting models to support line-of-business and company growth targets. Ensure that forecast models incorporate the necessary versatility needed to accommodate quick turnaround times and multiple growth scenarios.
  • Recommend improvements to financial and operating policies, procedures, and processes that clearly identify issues and results, and which improve consistency, accuracy and timeliness and strengthen internal controls.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
